She began her career at Surrey Memorial Hospital as the Head Consultation Liaison (CL) in Psychiatry. Her primary focus was building a thriving highly collaborative CL service to provide the psychiatric treatment needed by patients in the surgical and medical units, including the Palliative and Oncology Units. She was also awarded an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines on how to manage vulnerable patients in the hospital.
She is also the provincial practice leader for Psychiatry in BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC and the past president of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and adjunct faculty in the UM PM&R & Family Medicine residency programs. She has been interested for a long time in research and education on musculoskeletal issues. She is currently teaching Neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine to Family Medicine residents and has ongoing research projects on musculoskeletal education, electrodiagnostic medicine, and performing arts medicine.
Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales before completing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She was awarded the Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Psychotherapy Award during her training to recognize her accomplishments in these areas. Dr. Nadeesha Fernando is a psychiatrist who treats people of all ages BC Cancer. She has a keen interest in Psycho-oncology, and especially enjoys working with older adults. She has been interested for a long time in geriatric psychosis, and has served as a consultant at the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service (GPCLS) as well as the ECT Service at Vancouver General Hospital. Dr Theresa Lo completed medical school and a psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia.
